Pierina was born in Melbourne, a first generation Australian from an Italian (Sardinian) family.
Showing a very artistic flair from early in her life she started painting in oils. She has also dabbled in commissioned black and white pencil portraits.
After completing an Applied Arts Course, Pierina worked as a graphic designer and then as a fashion and product stylist. She then went on to jewellery design and started a successful small business but with Covid and the time it afforded her, she discovered a passion for pastel art work.
Since then Pierina has won more than 20 awards including the Pastel Society of Australia ‘Pastelist of Australia 2023’ and was also accepted into the International Association of Pastel Societies 2023 Juried Exhibition in America.
Although it is hard to believe, Pierina has not had any formal training apart from a workshop in pastel portraits in Florence in 2023.
