Born in Hobart, and as a teenager moved to Melbourne.
Excelled in art at high school, but was encouraged to undertake the pure sciences, so the brush was put away, not to be taken out till after an early retirement after many years' service as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson, which encompassed my mathematics skills as well as my flair and eye for detail. I was responsible for creating computerised coloured graphics that were incorporated into reports distributed to various government authorities. For the last few years of my career, I worked exclusively on City Link and East Link within the Traffic and Transportation group.
I retired early due to ill health and took up painting to fill in the void created. It took no time for the passion to re-ignite, and I have only been painting for approx 8 years, for 3 years was under the tutorledge of Craig Penny, have been showing now for 2 years, and have sold in excess of 20 paintings since returning to art.
I paint with acrylics, as I find the medium exciting to use as there is no limit to its innovativeness. It can be luscious, delicate, but most importantly constantly evolving with all the new technology being created to bring acrylics to the new age.
I have received one major award as well as two minor awards. I have also accepted commissions.
